At WOW we believe in the inherent strength, resilience, and fortitude of mothers, while at the same time recognizing that it truly does ‘take a village.’ Our programs aim to prepare, support, and guide mothers on their journey, with services focused on health care, community, and spirituality so that no mother feels like they have to do it alone.

Our goal is to improve the health and well-being of mothers before, during, and after pregnancy and delivery in order to reverse outcomes associated with maternal mortality, infant mortality, and complications in early childhood development as well as postnatal maternal health. We believe these efforts will lead to stronger family units by placing both mother and child on an initial trajectory towards success.

With a heart for our city of Philadelphia, we have a deep concern for maternal and infant mortality rates that are well above the national average and a striking disparity between rates for women and children of color and their white counterparts. This disproportionality among race parallels socioeconomic status leaving an already vulnerable population at even greater risk.

We intend to mitigate these risks and improve outcomes for all women and children through programming focused on preventative prenatal and supportive postpartum care,
